Direct Support Professional
Black Hills Special Services is looking for enthusiastic individuals to support people with developmental disabilities in a residential setting in our group homes in Lead, Whitewood, and Sturgis; there are various shifts available; day, evenings and weekends; part-time & full-time.  Base pay $9 and .75¢ differential for weekends and overnights. Youth Supervisors

Full-time evening and overnight shifts involving weekends for residential staff to work in a chemical dependency treatment setting in Spearfish supervising male adolescents.  Base pay $9.00/hour plus 75 cent/hour differential pay for weekends and overnights.  Full benefit package option available upon successful completion of probationary period.  State and Federal Background checks are required.  Drug and Tobacco free workplace.   Random drug screening.   Requires High School Diploma/GED and experience working with adolescents.  Minimum age 21, BFOQ.  Must be able to lift 50 lbs.

Title I Teacher, STAR Academy
Half time Title I Math Teacher, weekdays, Monday – Friday, 7:30 AM to 11:30 AM.  Applicants must possess a South Dakota Teacher certificate or be eligible for alternative certification. The position requires evaluating, assessing and instructing adjudicated middle school and high school students within an institutional setting.
Duties include:

  • preparing curriculum, reports and records
  • developing and monitoring individual education plans
  • coordinating appropriate class material
  • performing other duties as assigned

The position pays $16.21 an hour. A full benefit package is available.
