Careers Academies

These two schools, located in Spearfish and Sturgis, are approved by the South Dakota Board of Education as alternative education programs. Goals are to help high school students, not succeeding in regular school settings, achieve graduation and discover career paths. Black Hills Careers Academy, Spearfish, accepts students from across the state. Enrollment typically ranges from 30 to 40. Black Hills Education Connection, Spearfish, offers 30 student openings to the Spearfish and Lead-Deadwood public schools.
