Genasee Weller

Genasee Weller joined BHSSC in September of 2022 after learning about the ways they support people with I/DD here in SD. She has a son with special needs which gives her a unique perspective as a parent and services facilitator. Genasee’s background includes working with at-risk populations, and she specializes in supporting adults with I/DD at home and in the community. Her family moved here from WA State in August to be closer to her husband’s side of their family. She has a passion for bridging the gap between services and the family unit. Genasee is a go-getter and is looking forward to using her strengths to grow and implement the two positions that she will initially encompass.  Program Coordinator for HHS, CFS and TIE assisting with data intake/entry and streamlining travel coordination for these divisions.

On the weekends you can find her and her family visiting the many parks, outside attractions, hiking the trails, walking their Husky (Ace) floating the rivers, gaming at the local arcades, and stopping to smell the roses. She is excited to be here in Rapid City as a new place to grow roots. She left the rest of her extended family back in WA State.
