Tina Johnson

Tina joined BHSSC as a Learning Specialist in June of 2022 as part of the Path2Impact team. Tina received her Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education in 1999 and a Masters of Science in Curriculum and Instruction in 2012, both through Black Hills State University. She was a classroom teacher for twenty-three years with Rapid City Area Schools, having taught a variety of grade levels as well as being a Literacy Leader. Tina served for many years on the PLC/Leadership Team at her building, was a mentor teacher for student teachers, participated in the SD Counts program, and continuously worked to increase her capacity as an educator and leader.

Tina spends most of her spare time with her grandchildren. (She has four!) They are the lights of her life! She also loves to read, do puzzles, and spend time in the beautiful Black Hills with her husband, Jon. Family is her #1 priority and her happy place is anywhere with her husband, their two children Tyler and Kellsie, and their families.
