Black Hills Special Services Cooperative (BHSSC) is proud to announce its selection as a 2024 Engage Every Student (EES) Recognition Program Champion by the U.S. Department of Education. In partnership with Rapid City Area Schools, BHSSC is among only 13 recipients nationwide to receive this national recognition!
The EES Recognition Program honors organizations for their outstanding efforts in enhancing access to afterschool and summer learning initiatives.
BHSSC, in collaboration with Rapid City Area Schools, significantly broadened the availability of afterschool and summer learning opportunities for K-12 students.
A standout initiative was the introduction of STEM Camps through BHSSC’s Discovery Programs, which were held on early-release Fridays within the Rapid City school district.
