Jennifer Nelson started with BHSSC in 2016 as a Service Coordinator for Birth To Three. Her work history has always centered around children in positions such as Obstetrical Technician, Childcare Provider, Outreach Coordinator and Service Coordinator. Her certifications include WestEd Infant Toddler, Childcare Development Associates, NACCRRA coach, and PreK CLASS observer. She also has been a Love and Logic Instructor, CPS Car Seat Tech, Red Cross Instructor, Common Sense Parenting Instructor. Jennifer held the position of State Lead for Family Childcare for several years. She has served on boards such as TREC Head Start Board and Prairie Hills Transit Childcare Board and is a past President of the Lawrence County Child Protection Team. She was one of the state’s first Mentors for Family Child Care providers.
Her personal life includes her husband Mark, and two adult sons, Alex and Adam. We enjoy camping, boating, biking, and snow sports, but traveling is their favorite activity. “I haven’t been everywhere, but it is on my list” holds true with their family.
