Members of BHSSC’s Community & Family Services Division attended Harvard’s Family Engagement Institute, led by Dr. Karen Mapp. Experts from across the country presented research and strategies throughout the week focused on rich family engagement to connect families, schools, and communities. The team developed an action plan dealing with follow-up to the Family Friendly Walk-Through Process. Members are eager to apply their learnings to additional projects, as well as share take-aways with others as the CFS Team continues to do the meaningful work of connecting schools, families, and communities for student success. As Dr. Mapp will tell you, “Family Engagement is a movement, not a moment,” and CFS is passionate about doing quality work within the movement.
